Dholera International Airport

Dholera International Airport is a greenfield airport project being constructed near Navagam village to serve the Dholera SIR, Ahmedabad, and surrounding regions. The airport site spans approximately 1,426 hectares and is designed with a 3,200‑metre runway suitable for wide‑body aircraft.
This new airport will significantly enhance air connectivity for passengers and cargo, reducing pressure on existing airports and improving access for industries, executives, and workforce. It is expected to play a transformational role in positioning Dholera as a regional business and logistics hub, complementing other infrastructure elements like expressways and freight corridors.

Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway

The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway is a major access‑controlled highway under construction to connect Dholera directly with Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar districts. Stretching over 100+ km, the expressway is part of the broader DMIC infrastructure network.
Planned as a four‑lane corridor expandable to eight lanes, this expressway will drastically improve road logistics, reduce travel times, and integrate Dholera into western India’s economic belt. With a planned completion around early 2026, it forms a critical link for industrial transport, commuter movement, and real estate demand.

Dholera Solar Park

Dholera Solar Park is categorised as an Ultra Mega Solar Power Project by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Once complete, it is planned to have a total capacity of 5 GW (5,000 MW) by 2030, making it one of India’s most ambitious renewable energy initiatives.
The solar park supports Dholera’s energy ecosystem by supplying clean and sustainable power to residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, aligning with national renewable targets while strengthening the city’s infrastructure backbone.

Strategic Location & DMIC Integration

Dholera SIR lies in the DMIC (Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor) influence zone, a high‑impact industrial development initiative spanning over 1,500 km across six Indian states.
This strategic location places Dholera within reach of major trade corridors, ports, and industrial clusters, making it attractive for investment and large‑scale manufacturing. The city is approximately 100 km southwest of Ahmedabad, connecting it to Gujarat’s largest urban centre and broader markets through road, rail, and future air links.

Plug‑and‑Play Infrastructure

Dholera SIR’s design follows a plug‑and‑play infrastructure model, meaning key utilities such as power, water, gas, and digital connectivity are provisioned ahead of industrial occupancy.
This readiness significantly shortens setup timelines for businesses and industries, reducing project risk and encouraging global and domestic investors to establish operations without prolonged delays. This approach also supports efficient city expansion and land utilisation, strengthening investor confidence.

Rail & Multimodal Connectivity (Future)

Alongside road and air links, Dholera’s infrastructure plan includes freight rail connections and proposed urban transit systems. Part of its long‑term vision includes integration with the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), enabling rapid cargo movement between Delhi and Mumbai, which will directly benefit industrial logistics within the region.
Additionally, proposals for internal mobility — such as metro rail between Ahmedabad and Dholera — aim to improve daily commuting and urban connectivity as the city scales.

Industrial Parks & Economic Zones

Dholera is structured into multiple zoning areas that separate industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed‑use segments. The Activation Area, a priority development zone, has been developed with core infrastructure to support early investors, while other zones are set for phased growth.
These industrial parks and economic zones are key to making Dholera a globally competitive business destination, attracting manufacturing, technology, renewable energy, and logistics companies. Combined with world‑class infrastructure, these zones provide compelling case for long‑term investment.

Administration & Governance

While not directly covered in the main Wikipedia article, governance and coordinated execution in Dholera are structured through entities like Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) — a joint centre–state SPV — and various government bodies managing planning, infrastructure rollout, and investor services.
This organized governance framework ensures efficient implementation of master plans, faster approvals, and policy alignments — a feature that enhances investor confidence and reduces execution risk.
